Covid19 vaccination and testing center
The Ndlovu Care Group supports the South African Ministry of Health as a vaccination center in the fight against the COVID19 pandemic. The plan is #VacciNation – a fully vaccinated nation.
In the first six months, 94,000 vaccine doses were distributed, almost 52,000 tests were taken and analyzed in the Ndlovu laboratory.
Sequencing Coronavirus genome
In summer 2021, the Hugo Tempelman Foundation arranged a collaboration between GIZ and the Ndlovu Care Group. This resulted in the state-of-the-art equipment of the Ndlovu research laboratory with a sequencing device.
This can be used for HI viruses but also for Covid viruses. It is precisely here that the investigations of the variants play a major role. As was recognized worldwide in November 2021, South Africa plays a key role here.
