After-school care Chill Hub

The “Chill-Hub” houses are places for children and young people to receive after-school care and for leisure activities. Importantly, the Ndlovu Chill Hubs are a safe haven for children in an environment of great poverty.
There are rooms for learning in the buildings. The tutoring program, which consists of homework supervision and private lessons in which the students are supported by specialist teachers, is the focus of the work. The Chill Hubs provide a space for self-study and relaxation, a computer lab for academic research, computer literacy, and career counseling and mentoring to support young people’s professional careers.
The resort also offers a variety of outdoor activities and interactive games. This has proved useful in keeping children off the streets, where they are more likely to experience smoking and alcohol consumption.
Various sports courses such as aerobics, boxing, chess etc. are offered in the neighboring fitness center and sports hall. Talented athletes are encouraged and may also receive sports scholarships.
Supervision is carried out by a social worker. In addition, “life skills facilitators” work there to support the children with traumatic experiences.
