With the support of the
German Postcode LotteryVocational training center Ndlovu Care Group
The Hugo Tempelman Foundation successfully brokered the collaboration between the Ndlovu Care Group and the Postcode Lottery.
In order to continue the holistic care approach of the Ndlovu Care Group after the toddler and school years, the next logical step is to set up a vocational school in rural South Africa.
At 60%, youth unemployment in Limpopo is alarmingly high. Most young people do not have the option of continuing their education.
The aim is to give local young people a chance to work and earn an income through high-quality vocational training. And thus ultimately also a future.
Three young people describe what an apprenticeship means to them.
Apolonia
Apolonia hopes to create a future for herself and her siblings. Plumbing training can help her with this. She imagines that she will later have her own business and that her siblings will work with her.
Caroline
Caroline dreams of being a qualified, recognized engineer. She also hopes to start her own business. She not only wants to help herself, but also others.
Jacob
Jacob has a difficult home, like many of the children in rural South Africa. He is convinced that the best way to help yourself is to do it yourself. He hopes to receive good training so that he can also help others in the community.

Sharing Hope - Hope for a future
“Sharing Hope” – this was the motto under which the German Postcode Lottery celebrated small and large organizations and people at its annual charity gala in Düsseldorf.
The focus is on organizations whose commitment makes the world a better place. In addition to representatives of the sponsored organizations, the ambassadors Katarina Witt, Kai Pflaume and Toni Kroos, the supporters of the social lottery Michael Patrick Kelly and Peter Maffay also travelled to Düsseldorf.
The Hugo Tempelman Foundation was also able to be a part of this.
