The month is all about handicapped children

During the period leading up to December 5, Joris House would like to focus special attention on celebrating people with disabilities. At the same time, it is calling on the community to raise awareness of etiquette when interacting with people with disabilities.

Disability has different meanings in different communities. The biggest barriers faced by people with disabilities are often other people. Disability Awareness Month encompasses all types of disabilities and all age groups. Ndlovu Care Group is working hard to change the conditions of those affected through Disability Rehabilitation Center in Phooko, known as Joris House.

Last week, for example, the Jorishouse children, who live with cerebral palsy, attended a therapeutic session at the Zithabiseni resort. The caregivers also took part in the session and learned how to use water as a therapeutic measure.
