Opened in autumn 2008, “The Miracle” in Elandsdoorn is a community center, cinema, theater, music school and AIDS education center all in one. It has become a meeting place for all members of the community, where pensions are paid out and cultural events are held, as well as ongoing AIDS awareness and prevention events. Among other things, it is home to the Ndlovu Youth Choir, which consists of around 40 young singers and rehearses weekly in the “Miracle”. However, it is not just singing that takes place here, but also real “drama”. The children and young people process events from their lives in short plays. The “Miracle” is the first theater in a rural township in South Africa.
