The 16th Mainz Gutenberg Marathon started last Sunday in perfect running weather with over 9000 registered participants. Once again this year, our sponsor ENERGETIX took part with the largest group of runners. ENERGETIX has been supporting us tirelessly and with considerable sums of money since 2008. Their donations enable us to maintain and continue running the mother and child clinic. Without the continuous donations from the sales partners and the management, the mother and child clinic would have to be closed, as there is no state support for this project. For the third year now, the ENERGETIX runners have received prominent support from Joey Kelly. And Hugo and Liesje Tempelman always come all the way from South Africa for this half marathon to personally express their thanks for the commitment and support. And for the past two years, Liesje Tempelman has also been running, training in South Africa throughout the year. ENERGETIX donates 2 euros to the Hugo Tempelman Foundation for every kilometer run. We would like to thank all the runners for their commitment and great performance and are delighted that this event – rounded up – raised a helpful €5,000 for a good cause.
