Sharing Hope – Hope for a future thanks to the Postcode Lottery

“Sharing Hope” – this was the motto under which the German Postcode Lottery celebrated small and large organizations and people at its annual charity gala in Düsseldorf. Since the launch of the German Postcode Lottery in 2016, over 3,500 projects for people and nature throughout Germany have been supported with more than 115 million euros by 2022. The focus is on organizations that make the world a better place with their commitment. In addition to representatives of the sponsored organizations, the ambassadors Katarina Witt, Kai Pflaume and Toni Kroos, supporters of the social lottery Michael Patrick Kelly and Peter Maffay also travelled to Düsseldorf.

The Hugo Tempelman Foundation was also able to be a part of this this year. The Postcode Lottery is supporting the establishment of the vocational school in rural South Africa by the Ndlovu Care Group. Thanks to this aid, ongoing operations, in particular staff costs, are secured for the first three years.

A particularly strong sign of hope and courage came from Nadia Murad, Nobel Peace Prize winner and UN Special Envoy for the Dignity of Victims of Human Trafficking, who gave a moving speech that evening.

We are grateful for the quick and immediate support of the Postcode Lottery. In keeping with this year’s motto, they are giving young people in Limpopo hope for the future.
