New instruments for the Ndlovu Youth Choir from Musikhaus Thomann

During our visit to South Africa, we also experienced a choir rehearsal of the Ndlovu Youth Choir in the Miracle Theater. Watching the 40 or so young people and choirmaster Ralf Schmitt at work was great fun.

We took this opportunity to discuss the generous donation of instruments from Musikhaus Thomann. Ralf then selected instruments worth 5,000 euros from the company’s catalog, which will be made available to the choir. Parts of the drum kit need to be replaced and a new keyboard was chosen, as children and young people regularly come to practice in the afternoons.

But what is really great is that Ralf wants to launch a “DJ academy” for young people, which was greeted with great jubilation by the young people when it was announced. Today, DJs can be just as successful as pop stars, even in South Africa. So the appropriate equipment was also ordered. Another idea from Ralf: a small but fully functional studio is to be built in one of the changing rooms of the Miracle Theater. The studio will not only be inspiring for the children and young people from the community, but can also be seen as a vocational training measure. He was able to select the appropriate equipment from the extensive catalog of Musikhaus Thomann.

In the Ndlovu Youth Choir there are many talented musicians who are encouraged by Ralf’s ideas and can turn their talent into a profession. Ralf’s wish list became a little more expensive as a result. We, the Hugo Tempelman Foundation, covered the difference of 3,000 euros so that the entire list could be ordered.

We wish you lots of fun and success!
