New headsets for the Ndlovu Youth Choir from Musikhaus Thomann

Another step towards professionalism thanks to Musikhaus Thomann. Just over a year ago, the Ndlovu Care Group decided to raise the children’s and youth choir to a professional level as part of its Childcare Program. The first step was to remove the age restriction. Now the young people no longer have to leave the choir when they get older. What they have learned and experienced now remains in the group and is passed on to the new members in the long term.

Those who are looking for a professional future in music will now find a long-term home in the choir.

The numerous performances show that the decision to professionalize and market the choir was the right one. The group is very well booked – international contracts are also being negotiated.

The Hugo Tempelman Foundation is supporting the project to the best of its ability. In addition to designing the new website (choir.africa), the foundation is also taking care of the technical equipment. With the help of an extremely generous discount from Thomann, the choir was able to purchase a professional in-ear monitoring system. The choir singers now have 16 wireless headsets at their disposal. In-ear monitoring has become an integral part of the world’s major stages and now also of smaller stages. Previously, if the choir wanted to use this technology, it had to hire it for each performance. This cost between 1,000 and 1,200 euros per performance. This is now a thing of the past, as the choir can bring its own equipment to every performance.

The unrestricted freedom of movement brings a significant improvement in stage performance, which suits the choir very well. We are delighted that our support is so spot on and really gets to where it is needed. We are looking forward to all upcoming performances.
