Ndlovu opens the children’s facilities – with strict hygiene precautions

Good news from South Africa: The Ndlovu Care Group opens its children’s facilities and welcomes its young guests.

During the lockdown since March 2020, the children in Elandsdoorn received little to no education, neither learning nor socialization skills were taught. However, even with very young children, the early promotion of cognitive, social and physical development has a direct impact on the overall development of adults.

How much more difficult this situation is for children who come from difficult backgrounds. Where the home may only be one room. Where many family members live together in the poorest of circumstances. Where the fear of hunger overshadows the fear of the future, of the virus. We can only imagine what everyday life is like in these families.

The Ndlovu Care Group has made every effort to quickly reopen the Group’s children’s and youth facilities. The hygiene regulations are very strict. Even the very youngest children wear a mask and everyone sits in their own designated area at the table. This is marked with adhesive tape. It is particularly important to the staff that the children receive a regular diet again. For many, the school is the only place that guarantees a steady supply of food.
