Message from South Africa

We recently received a personal message from Hugo Tempelman in South Africa:

Dear ones,

Ndlovu Care Group, the Ndlovu team, the beneficiaries, the community at large would like to thank you for your wonderful and generous donations to support our vulnerable people during the difficult time of lockdown and the Covid19 disaster.

In South Africa, there are currently almost 600,00 confirmed cases, 12,618 deaths and an estimated 22,000 additional deaths among 22,000 South Africans who have not received a proper diagnosis or test for COVID.

We continue to believe that the virus itself is not the worst of all public health threats (HIV/AIDS at its peak had around 1200 deaths per day and 1900 new HIV+ patients every day …… for many years), but the lockdown led to over 6 million job losses and consequently extreme poverty from which we will not recover in the coming years. The economic catastrophe is enormous in a country already defined by its huge inequalities and socio-economic disparities…………

That is why the help we provided together was and is so important!

We continue to collect donations and care for our communities.

We can only do this with your support, and this report will give you a good insight into how important and life-saving the work you do is.

A thousand thanks

Hugo Tempelman

Please stay on the ball with us. Even if the pandemic situation here in Germany sometimes feels familiar, for some people it and, above all, the consequences of containing it are not only life-threatening but also life-threatening.

The hunger is even worse than the virus.

Please continue to support this important campaign and save lives.
