Mutual support is invaluable, especially for people with mental and physical disabilities.
This year, Hugo Tempelman and his Ndlovu Care Group have done a lot to improve the lives of these children and their families. Not only are they now receiving long-needed treatment, but they are also integrated into the community.
This is not a matter of course, as disabled children are often hidden in the community. It is seen as a curse, a punishment for evil deeds, to give birth to a disabled child. This is the reason why disabled children and their families are often outcast and socially marginalized.
But now, through the Ndlvou Care Group’s new rehabilitation program, for the first time they have a Christmas where they are a valuable part of a community.
With this in mind, we wish everyone a happy and peaceful Christmas.
