The Ndlvou Youth Choir is back with a great video for Heritage Day. Here the choir presents its very own version of the Jerusalema Dance Challenge.
For a few weeks now, the hit song “Jerusalema” has been a hit on the internet. The accompanying choreography is danced all over the world and videos of it are posted on the internet. The song by South African DJ Master KG has more than 100 million views on YouTube. He himself is more than surprised at the sudden huge success of his piece of music.
Even South African President Cyril Ramaphosa called on all South Africans to take part in the Heritage Day challenge on September 24, 2020:
“There can be no better way to celebrate our South Africans than to join the global phenomenon that is spreading around the world, and that is the Jerusalema dance challenge….the Jerusalema song that I love so much. So I urge you all to take up this challenge on Heritage Day and show the world what we are capable of,” he said in his final address to the nation, in which he announced South Africa’s transition to Level 1 of the national lockdown. Since Sunday, the travel ban has been lifted. South Africa is opening up to the world again!
