Thanks to the generous support of Bild hilft e.V. “A Heart for Children”, organized by the Hugo Tempelman Foundation and sponsorship from the Tjommie Foundation, the Ndlovu Care Group is building a brand new mini-campus in Bloempoort. This project will be a huge positive change in the lives of children who live too far away from the Elandsdoorner Campus. The new campus will consist of a preschool, a nutrition unit and a chill hub house. As with the first minicampus in Elandsdoorn, the children and young people will also be supported by a social worker and a life support counselor. There will be after-school care to not only monitor schoolwork, but also tutoring for children and young people who need special support due to family difficulties or health problems.
Ndlovu aims to support children and young people, including children with disabilities, in all areas: In sports, at school and in the cultural/artistic field, talents are promoted – see, for example, the NDLOVU YOUTH CHOIR.
Ndlovu offers a unique holistic prevention and care program: children who are found to be in need, whether medically or socially, are supported in every way. Ndlovu gives these children the opportunity and the knowledge to change themselves and their circumstances in order to lead a normal life. All of this with the ultimate goal of creating the maximum opportunities for a generation of responsible, healthy, employable young South Africans.
The Ndlovu Research Consortium is managing this project in an interdisciplinary way in order to conduct basic research on inclusive childcare more evidently than ever before in South Africa. This will not only benefit the children in this project, but also the community at large and the South African government as a whole, which will be able to apply the benchmarks of this facility to similar projects in the future.
