December 1 is World AIDS Day

AIDS in South Africa is one of the greatest humanitarian disasters of our time. In no other country are there more HIV-positive people than in South Africa, where around 6.4 million people are infected with HIV. With a total population of 50 million, this is one of the highest HIV rates in the world at almost 13%. Around 900 people are newly infected every day and 500 people die of AIDS every day in South Africa.

AIDS sufferers have to contend with stigmatization and exclusion, especially in rural areas. People do not go to the doctor out of shame and fear.

This is exactly where Hugo Tempelman’s work begins. The 24-hour/mother and child clinic in Elandsdoorn takes in AIDS patients who are no longer being treated by state hospitals. 70% of them are able to lead an almost normal life again after treatment by the Ndlovu Care Group. Hugo Tempelman receives no state aid for his work at the clinic, but is financed exclusively from donations.

We therefore ask you to donate to the 24-hour/mother and child clinic in Elandsdoorn and help us to realize the vision of the first AIDS-free generation in South Africa.

Thank you very much!
