“Chill-Hub” house (recreation and youth center)

As part of the CHAMP children’s program, the “Chill-Hub” house is a place for children and young people to receive after-school care and spend their free time. The two-storey building has a study room on the top floor, while the lower level is for chilling out, playing table football, board games or watching DVDs. Upstairs there is a homework support center where children can receive tutoring. There is also a computer school that is not only available to pupils, but to all members of the community. Here they learn how to use computers under professional guidance. This is an important prerequisite for finding a job later on. In the adjacent fitness center and sports hall, there are various sports courses such as aerobics, boxing, chess, etc. The fitness center has showers with hot water and a rehabilitation facility for HIV patients. Talented athletes are encouraged and may also receive sports scholarships.

Supervision is provided by a social worker. In addition, “life skills facilitators” work there to support the children with traumatic experiences.
