As every year before Christmas, Bild e. V. “Ein Herz für Kinder” organized a big fundraising gala on ZDF. And this year, the Ndlovu Youth Choir was also part of the entertainment show. The young South Africans performed alongside Robbie Williams. Together with his celebrity guests, Johannes B. Kerner presented national and international aid projects to collect donations for needy children and children in distress. This year, an incredible total of 18,097,586 euros was raised.
The next day, the singers of the Ndlovu Youth Choir were accompanied by Daimler in Berlin and experienced the pre-Christmas atmosphere in the capital. Of course, they also visited a Christmas market and gave an impromptu concert. The children and young people were accompanied by two young actors, Marijke Smittenaar and Steve Windolf, who moderated the contribution for Daimler’s intranet.
On Sunday evening, the choir also gave a charity concert in the Kreuzkirche Schmargendorf. Thanks to the support of Regiocast and all of Berlin’s major private radio stations, the concert was completely sold out. Sandra Maischberger hosted the evening. The children from her foundation Vincentino e.V. performed as the opening act “Kids on Drums”. In the atmospheric church, which was kindly made available free of charge by Pastor Groß, a great concert took place that completely thrilled the audience.
In the end, the prominent members of the audience could no longer keep their seats. The Vice President of the German Bundestag, Claudia Roth, was carried away. Having already visited the choir at the Africa Festival in Würzburg, she is an enthusiastic fan.
