A great help for the work of Hugo Tempelman: The non-profit organization BILD hilft e. V. “Ein Herz für Kinder” pledges support for the construction of a second mini-campus in Bloempoort, Sekhukune in the Limpopo district. This mini-campus will include a feeding station, a pre-school facility, a chill hub house and a water supply facility.
The Ndlovu Care Group’s Chill Hub provides children with after-school care and support. They can receive tutoring, take computer courses, visit the library or play sports. The aim is to provide the children with carefree leisure activities. Children who have had to endure too much hardship in their lives, as some of them are AIDS orphans who often live in child-headed households. They have to bear family responsibilities, have no income, no access to social services and are easily victims of abuse and crime. These children usually drop out of school and the majority of school dropouts are unemployed in the long term.
Hugo Tempelman’s Ndlovu Care Group has set itself the task of breaking this vicious circle, as they often fall through the cracks of the Ministry of Social Affairs’ child welfare program. The Chill Hub in Elandsdoorn has proven that this form of help is effective. However, this is by no means enough. Due to the great distance to the outlying areas, it is often difficult for the children to reach the facility.
An expansion of the locations and the construction of the new facilities should help as many children as possible. BILD hilft e. V. “Ein Herz für Kinder” supports this project. Drilling for a water hole began at the start of this week. They are currently at a depth of 25 meters, but it often takes 80 meters to reach a water vein. As soon as the team has found water, a reservoir can be built and construction can begin. We will continue to report.
